Davide Trolton
Davide Trolton, born in 2001, is a student at the Chigiana Academy in Siena with M° Daniele Gatti. Under the guidance of Maestro Luciano Acocella, he obtained his Master of Music in Orchestra Conducting with a grade of 110/110 with honors and distinction from the G. B. Martini Conservatory in Bologna. Despite his young age, he has already won the 2nd Erich Bergel International Conducting Competition (April 2024) and the 2023 National Arts Award, the latter being unanimously awarded to him.
He has been an active partecipant in international masterclasses with esteemed conductors such as Daniele Gatti, Luciano Acocella, Mark Heron, Nicolas Pasquet, Donato Renzetti, Giovanni Pelliccia, Douglas Bostock, and Ferrer Ferran. Some of these masterclasses were in collaboration with prestigious institutions, including the Royal Northern College of Music, The Hallé Orchestra, Manchester Camerata, and the Chigiana Academy.
In addition to his masterclass experiences, Trolton has conducted concerts with various orchestras both in Italy and abroad. These include the Istituzione Sinfonica Abruzzese, Filarmonica de Stat Targu Mures (Romania), Orchestra Senzaspine, Argovia Philharmonic (Switzerland), Ateneo Musical de Cullera (Spain), G.B. Martini Conservatory Orchestra in Bologna, and Sociedad Primitiva de Paiporta (Spain).
Future concerts have already been arranged with institutions such as: Istituzione Sinfonica Abruzzese, Filarmonica Marchigiana FORM, I Solisti Aquilani, Filarmonica de Stat Targu Mures (Romania), OPV Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, Budapest Symphony Orchestra MÁV (Hungary).
Trolton’s study of conducting began at a very young age. In 2014, at just 13 years old, he won the seventh edition of the “Cueva de Medrano” conducting competition in Argamasilla de Alba (Spain). During this time, he also attended a two-year academy under the guidance of composer and conductor Ferrer Ferran, excelling in areas such as analysis, orchestration and conducting technique.
Simultaneously, he studied composition with M° Hans Carl Philipp Lüders and piano with M° Rinaldo Bellucci. In 2021, he graduated with highest honors (110/110) in percussion instruments from the G. Verdi Conservatory in Turin, under the mentorship of M° Riccardo Balbinutti. In 2019, at only 18 years old, he was admitted to the Italian Conducting Academy of Maestro Gilberto Serembe, where he obtained the three-year diploma in 2022.
Central to his approach are the deep analysis of the score and the respect for the composer’s intentions, achieved through a clear vision of sound, articulations, and phrasing.
